Manhattan Soccer Club is committed to all levels of program development and competition, from local travel to nationally-ranked elite teams, but the program approach is the same.
The MSC program develops outstanding athletes on and off the field by:
MSC has an integrated soccer curriculum taught by a staff of 40 or more professional coaches, with a senior coaching staff overseeing the programs. We have years of experience developing successful soccer players and teams playing on the local, regional and national levels. The Director of Coaching works with the each team's coach to establish the team’s goals and program for the year. The goal is for each team to learn developmentally appropriate soccer, and to play their matches in a challenging but appropriate league.
In general, teams train three times a week, with one match on the weekend. They participate in 3-6 tournaments annually, with the exception of college showcase teams, which may attend 7 or more to get exposure to college coaches. Premier Team players are expected to attend all three training sessions per week. Academy team players are expected to attend two of the three scheduled training sessions, but are encouraged to attend all three.
