    Manhattan SC Villa Boys U16 captured their second straight NY Cup State Championship on Sunday at HBC Soccer Park on Long Island. Director of Coaching Ray Selvadurai's side won a highly competitive match against BW Gottschee Pre-Academy 00, 4-2. Jacob Shaffelburg's hat trick and Drew Dworkin's timely late first half goal provided the scoring needed for the champions. 
     

    "The match really featured two of US Club Soccer's best teams in the area. EDP/NPL taking on the Pre-Academy's undefeated team. The game was up and down and highly contested. Villa managed to gain control of the match in the final 20 minutes by taking our chances on goal and shoring up our back line to gain the title".

    The Villa have had an strong run this spring in capturing the Manhattan SC Kick Off Classic, Jefferson Cup and Potomac Memorial Day tournaments, as capturing the regular season NPL (National Premier League) North Division title.

    Currently the Villa stand at #2 in the GOTSOCCER national rankings, and head into the EDP National Premier League Semifinals June 18th against South Jersey Barons in Bridgewater, NJ.

    Titans Capture 4th NY State Cup

    On Saturday, June 11 the MSC BU14 Titans won their 4th career NY Cup Championship defeating White Plains Academy by a score of 1-0.  The victory earned them a spot at the US Club National Cup to be played in Aurora, Co July 22 - 25.  This is the second year in a row that the Titans have made it to the National Cup and the team is excited to represent MSC in a national competition of this caliber.  This Sunday the Titans play for the EDP/NPL Championship and hope to earn a spot in the NPL Finals in Colorado also in July.

    Fury Wins Its First NY State Cup Title

    MSC u13 Fury led by coach Chip Wonderlin won their first NY state cup on Saturday, defeating their old nemesis Brentwood 2-0 in overtime.  Brentwood had made the NY cup finals 4 times in the past 5 years and knocked out the Fury in the NY cup quarterfinals last year.  Fury went 7-0 over the duration of the competition, outscoring their opponents 31-2.  Luke Cibelli chipped in with both goals in the final while Anthony Callejas, Max Jacobs and Alden Weiner led a defense that surrendered only 1 goal over 300 minutes of knockout round football, and none in the quarters, semis or final.
